Beat the Heat at the Grand Canyon National Park
The thermometer is supposed to reach almost 120° this weekend, so escape the heat with dad this weekend and head up to the Grand Canyon for some fun and cool weather.
This Father’s Day weekend, Grand Canyon National Park will host an open house this weekend as part of the competition for #VoteYourPark grants at 20 National Parks across the country. Families can visit the Park and view the Desert View Watchtower, originally constructed in 1932. Throughout the weekend, guests can tour the watchtower, view its murals, and here its history from park rangers. In addition to the Desert View Watchtower, guests can hike around the National Park and enjoy a little bit of cooler weather.
Grand Canyon National Park is about 3.5 hours north of Phoenix. For more information about Grand Canyon National Park, visit https://www.nps.gov/grca/index.htm.
