The Weekend Guide: Shops and Hops
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, you’re in luck. From cocktail carousels to Four Peaks Brewery’s first Kilt Fest to Missoni mayhem at My Sister’s Closet that may rival the Target experience, our town is chock full of happenings this weekend. Clear your calendar of anything boring and check out our round-up below:
If you were one of those folks shut off Target’s website the day their collab with Missoni debuted, you may get the last laugh after all. Starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, February 25, everyone’s favorite resale go-to My Sister’s Closet
will debut a collection of mint-condition Missoni apparel, jewelry and accessories
. Get your zig-zag, chevron and stripes fix at all locations for three days, though the main collection will be at the Lincoln Village shopping center in Scottsdale. Tired of the Missoni hoopla? Vintage pieces from other high end designers, including Versace
will also be available at all My Sister's Closet locations during the event. Click here
for more info.
If you’re still not over shopping at that point, good. Two events - the Junior League of Phoenix's 75th Annual Rummage Sale and
the 26th Annual Fountain Hills Great Fair
- are both slated from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, though the Great Fair is also happening today and Sunday. If shopping isn't on your agenda, Four Peaks Brewery’s 1st Annual Kilt Fest
from 12 to 5 p.m. at CityScape in downtown Phoenix might be. Only $5, Kilt Fest will feature plenty
of brewskies, music from Keltic Cowboys, the O’Henry Band, food trucks and the official after-party at CopperBlues
with more live music and drink specials. First things first, though: click here

Cap off Arizona Cocktail Week
with St. Germains’ Bottoms Up Event
at 11 a.m. February 25 at Culinary Dropout
. This is free for conference attendees, which is great, because you might want to save some dough for the W’s second annual Spring Training Charity Poker Classic
at 6 p.m. Saturday. Attendees, who are playing for a chance to win $10,000 at the World Series of Poker
, will rub shoulders with professional athletes and celebrities in a friendly game of poker to support local charities, The Cactus League and The Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Fund. A pre-event buy-in starts at $175; a buy-in the day of the event is $200. For serious rollers, VIP tickets start $250. VIP tickets include admittance to a pre-party at 5:30 p.m. and free cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Whew! Now off to catch a quick nap before the festivities begin. Have a great weekend Scoopers!
