The Weekend Guide: Super Soakers
'I need all of you to stop what you're doing and listen. Cannonball!'

Holy heat Batman, it’s scorching outside! While you’re more than likely shivering at your desk reading this little ditty, the weekend is upon us which means only one thing: hot hot hot. And because no one wants to spend their precious weekend days holed up in the house, we’ve compiled a weekend guide pool fiesta style. So grab your shades and rubber ducky, we’re going outside. Even if it is 112 in the shade.
If you haven’t stopped by Spanish Fly, make this new Mexican beach club your first priority. As the new standard for day-clubs in Old Town Scottsdale, this Vegas style day destination offers daybeds, private cabanas and bottle service and is the perfect inexpensive daycation. Best part? They serve tall boys, enough said. Open 365 days a year from 11am to sunset, also check out their Full Moon Soirees, open for nighttime swimming when the full moon is shining (because thats when things really get wild.)
If you’re looking for a place to relax this summer without a rowdy crowd, check out the super chic Kasbah pool at the Montelucia Resort & Spa, or the retro-chic OH Pool at the Hotel Valley Ho. Here, guests can listen to retro tracks on Session Saturdays, and recover from a long weekend on Sundays with reggae beats and mai tais, although room reservations are a must to attend these summer shindigs.
And finally, the just announced Cannonball at the Lexington Hotel pool will commence every Sunday beginning July 3rd. Presented by Sticky Fingers & Retro Hi Fi, this local summer jam showcases DJs (including our very own mixtape man, DJ William F-Ing Reed) spinning house, indie, lounge, electro and your favorite summer time tunage. No need to book a room, cover is just $5 all day.
Jump in, it’s a wet, hot American summer.
