Summer’s Happiest Happy Hours
We all know that Phoenix becomes an eerie ghost town in the summer. People travel from air conditioned home, to car, to office rarely letting their skin see the sunlight for fear it will burst spontaneously into flames. This means that local businesses suffer and restaurants must pull out all the stops to get people in the (air conditioned) door. It's great news for us locals because it means we can hit up some of the best restaurants for very little cash. Here's a few of our favorite Summer-time happy hours:
- For years, Fleming's 5 for 6 'til 7 has been a destination for people all over the country. While these special hours of culinary bliss aren't just offered over the Summer, it is much easier to get in there and grab a seat in the lounge when everyone else has jumped ship for cooler temps. You can choose from five wines by the glass, five appetizers and five cocktails all for just six bucks until 7 pm. This includes the popular Wicked Cajun Barbeque Shrimp and the Fleming's Prime Burger for not much more than a fast food option.
- From 5-7 pm every day, this upscale steak and seafood restaurant will be offering $5 appetizers like Kobe Beef Sliders and King Crab and Spinach Dip along with $5 glasses of select wines, $4 premium and imported beers and $3 domestic beers for your enjoyment. They also have four delicious-sounding speciality cocktails for just $5, too. We'll cheers a Cucumber Gimlet to this new happy hour.
- At both the Uptown and Arcadia locations, The Vig offers half priced appetizers, $2 off all cocktails and wines and $1-$1.50 off all beers from 3-6 pm Monday-Friday.
Wildfish Seafood Grille
- Got some quarters stashed in your car or stuffed in your couch cushions? Bring them into Wildfish over the Summer to cash them in for some oysters. That's right, the Scottsdale Waterfront seafood restaurant has an amazing happy hour from 4-11 pm (more like happy night) in the lounge. You can suck back $5 mojitos and get $2 off other beverages while enjoying half off selected appetizers and oysters for just 75 cents each.
