We Love Luci’s
Super-cute and brimming with tasty eats, Luci’s Healthy Marketplace is our latest obsession.

Look, we love La Grande Orange. Who doesn’t? But between the perpetually-packed parking lot and the see-and-be-seen scene, we’re starting to feel a bit smothered. Lately, we’ve found ourselves stepping out with a little lady named Luci. Located just off the 51 Freeway at the northwest corner of 16th and Bethany Home roads, Luci’s Healthy Marketplace is a mom and pop shop with big-city appeal. Grab a cup o’ jo and a Red Velvet cupcake from Wicked Bakery, or order a sit-down meal from the griddle, and then just relax and enjoy all the elbow room.
Founded by Luci and Ken Schnitzer, LHM was inspired by Luci’s successful battle with breast cancer at the age of 34. Uninspired by the ‘healthful’ offerings at local stores, they decided to create their own slice of non-processed nirvana. Unfortunately, the good vibes were briefly interrupted this summer when the adjacent Richardson’s restaurant burst into flames. Three short months later, Luci’s was back and better than ever, including an expanded menu and a seven-days-a-week omelet bar.
Looking for something a little more Scottsdale? Steer your SUV to The Kitchen, a boutique market/café/ bakery/coffee and wine bar inside the Shops at Gainey Village. Formerly known as Dish, this sweeping space offers top-notch to-go meals, as well wood-fired pizzas and a nice mustard-spiced Cubano sandwich.
