So before we open our big mouths on Wednesday to heaping helping of buttery, syrupy hotcakes, let’s meet the girl of Girl Meets Fork…

DLT: What prompted the idea of Pancake Quest 2012 and why pancakes?
Susie Timm: 2011 was the year I rekindled my love of pancakes after a 25+ year hiatus. I was on a personal “quest” to find the best pancakes in the Valley so that inspired the idea.

What’s your favorite type of pancake? Chocolate Chip.

What’s your personal favorite Valley restaurant for pancakes?
Oh no. Too loaded. I’ll tell you after the competition is over!

Coffee or Tea with your hotcakes?
Coffee. Coffee goes with everything. Coffee makes everything better.

What inspired you to start Girl Meets Fork?
The Valley needed another food blog. Hah. Kidding. Actually I so love writing about food and hosting wacky events and I wanted a platform to express myself on.

What’s new for GMF for 2012?
Working with lots of local gourmet food producers and farmers’ markets to spark a fire under the locally produced food biz here.

What is/are your current favorite food trend?
I’m obsessed with pickling this year. Pickled tomatoes, pickled asparagus. It’s gonna be huge folks.
