Dine with Your Dog to support Phoenix Children’s Hospital—plus a wing-fueled Westside ThrowDown

As any pet lover can tell you, nothing turns around a bad day like dog smooches or kitty cuddling. In fact, scientific research has shown that regular interaction with pets can reduce stress levels and invoke a sense of well-being. Which is why the Scoop Factory hopes you’ll support the Dine with Your Dog event this Saturday, March 27.
Starting with a Sniff ‘N’ Greet reception followed by a gourmet dinner for both humans and their pets, this furry fundraiser benefits the Animal-Assisted Therapy Program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Led by specially-trained volunteers, this program lets little patients take a dog for a walk, or throw the animal a ball, forgetting the pain for a little while and moving closer to going home. (Held at a private residence in Phoenix, call 602-944-9552 for more information)
Speaking of fun food fests, drop by the Westside ThrowDown tonight to see six of the Valley’s top chefs compete for chicken wing supremacy. Created by the local foodies at Into The Soup and hosted by Food Network TV star, chef Beau MacMillan, each competitor will whip up his or her signature chicken wing recipe and face off for the judges, two at a time, until a winner is crowned. Tix are $35 and guests will get to sample each recipe. (7701 W. Paradise Ln., 623-776-8400)
