A Perfect End to 2010

While we're not exactly sure where the decade went, we're ready to party in the New Year in style

new-years-eve

Hello Scoopers, long time no chat. Actually we’re just popping in for a quick New Year’s Eve preview, and then will be back for realsies on Monday. But until then, can you hear that ticking sound? It’s the sound of the biggest party night of the year barreling at you. So in case you haven’t already made plans to ring in 1-1-11, we’ve got you covered.

CityScape’s New Year’s Eve:
Phoenix has a downtown? We kid, we kid. Celebrate the Valley’s newest urban hotspot with live performances by Ed Kowalczyk (you know, the lead singer of that band LIVE), Snake Burner and Metal Elvis. We highly suggest springing the extra $15 for RED Zone tickets as it includes Champagne. Give us Champagne and we’re sold on anything.

Mabel’s on Main’s Swank Soiree:
Nothing says New Year’s Eve quite like a swanky cocktail party featuring old school libations and even more old school nibbles such as caviar-topped Devil’s Eggs. Yes, Scottsdale’s fav speakeasy, Mabel’s on Main will be hosting a chic and stylish get-together highlighted by passed hors d’oeuvres and a hosted bar from 8 ∼ 10 pm. $60 admission.

New Year’s in New New York:
Since you won’t be celebrating in NYC (snow schmo), why not ring in the New Year at the sister location of SoHo’s most infamous lounge? AZ’s very own MercBar is partnering with Veuve-Clicquot to host a classy soirée replete with an all inclusive bar and hors d’oeuvres. Even better, the Merc has partnered with the adjacent Ritz-Carlton to provide party-goers a killer room rate ($119). Admission is $125 per person or $200 per couple.
